Overview

Sportsor was an answer to the question "HOW DO WE SOLVE AMATURE SPORT SPONSORSHIP?" The idea came to fruition when Irene and I both realised our shared love of community sports.

Sports and Australian culture are inextricably tied together. From kids of all ages on a Saturday mornings playing Soccer to after work social Netball. Australians furiously compete on the world stage but the foundations are based in the love of the outdoors and our sense of community.

The Opportunity

To understand user groups and relieve their stress with an associated task.

Currently sporting teams and businesses do not have platform in which they can connect and help each other grow. Our task was to understand these user groups and facilitate a mutually beneficial symbiotic relationship.

“Without sponsorship the club wouldn’t run. Rego only covers association fees… Fee’s would double to triple.”

We conducted research into the habits and methods of gaining and executing sponsorship. This incorporated both sporting clubs and businesses from rural and metro demographics.
We were trying to understand pain points and patterns that have evolved within the sponsorship process.

Solution Statement

Design a simplified platform that allows amatuer clubs and businesses to foster strong relationships and grow.

Design Studio

We completed two time-boxed 10 minute design studios to formulate ideas and layouts for our platform's homepage. Most of our initial ideas were inspired by the websites that we had analysed in the comparative analysis. The goal was to achieve a design where the main functionality of the website was easily accessible with simple navigation in an easily digestible format.

Usability Testing

Usability Testing

The game plan was to address the issues in our navigation by creating simple tests to see if our users understood our icons. The most basic tests were centered around "Can you sign up and login?" As well as the more basic "What do you think this is?"

We ascertained that there was difficulty understanding some of the icons chosen. We were also informed on preferences in terms of search and exploration.
